The summer of 1977. Two boys on the cusp of adolescence in small-town America find themselves pitted against government forces to protect the most amazing discovery in history.  Each a misfit and outcast in his right, they wage psychological warfare against a tyrannical military officer hellbent on bringing about their undoing.

It's a simple story really, full of memories and impressions of a turbulent decade that was, for many of us, the last decade of our childhood. But most of all, it's a story of friendship and simpler times. I invite you to read it, critique it, enjoy it, and for some, bask in the memories of that one last summer of innocence...

The death of a family friend inspired me to complete this story, and the lifelong friendship of another was my inspiration.
